What awaits us after "Black Friday " poker?

In my opinion nothing terrible will happen. But let us first delve into the history of the issue.

2006. In the U.S., a law was passed Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (or UIGEA), a guideline which states - "It is prohibited gambling in the conscious acceptance of payments in connection with the participation of another person in a bet or wager that involves the use of the Internet and that is illegal under any federal or state law. " The law finally came into force on 1 December 2009. (Until then obviously there was some sort of transition period. It is difficult to understand without knowing the American jurisprudence:))

Interesting fact. Law-abiding PartyPoker (at the moment the biggest pokerroom in the network), stopped taking U.S. players, and one day its shares on the London Stock Exchange fell by 60%!

PokerStars, FullTilt, Absolute, and his brother Ultimatbet, not wanting to lose the huge U.S. market, developed a scheme for evading the law. Its essence is very simple - was organized by several front companies and through them, deposits made by Americans, were held in banks as payments for purchased goods (jewelry, golf balls, etc.). For the time being, the banks closed their eyes to it, but since December 2009 have been forced to abandon such cash customers. But our guys wasted no time lost, found several small banks and a sound investment, the scheme has continued to work.

All this might work is unknown how long, but ruined by greed. A Daniel Tsvetkoff working in financial services, PokerStars and FullTilt pocketed some money. Both the poker room tried to return the stolen through the courts, but they failed. In the end, decided to give rooms Tsvetkoffa American authorities. Tsvetkoff in turn, to reduce his sentence, negotiated with the U.S. Court justice, and merged all the dirt on his former employers. The result - 11 people were arrested and they face penalties of up to 30 years in prison.

Here's a story. Now the most troubling issues.

Will be closed if Pokerstars, FullTilt?

I think not. All poker rooms are not registered in the U.S. (PokerStars Isle of Man, Full Tilt Poker in Ireland and Absolute Poker in Costa Rica) and how you understand the jurisdiction of the United States, these countries do not apply. Site PokerStars http://pokerstars.eu and FullTilt http://fulltiltpoker.co.uk available for European addresses. The game of poker rooms continues. Including if they are not inherited, and in other countries, all will be as before. They do not close down - unwound brand, and business is very profitable.

What will happen with the money?

Input - output goes through without problems and delays. Even if there are financial sanctions, it will impact primarily on the amounts guaranteed tournaments, the abolition of live tournaments and the like. Deposits will not touch! On the rail they currently earn more!

It is more difficult now to Americans. As I understand it, they blocked access to the poker rumam for IP addresses and posted their money they can not. (In their place I would use non-US proxy, well and having the opportunity to play, you can always find a way to get money)

Where they will play the Americans?

Now, they smoothly flow into other poker rooms. In the Merge Gaming network for one day the number of players increased by a factor of 2, approximately 30% were more players in the network Cake and Bodog . (I wonder what their schemes circumvent the law? "They have not yet found its Tsvetkoff:))

So that nothing bad will happen. Poker rooms online much. Play Poker! Earn yourself a treat!

Good luck!
